Main mission
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the National Sales Director, the Key Account Manager will build and maintain strong customer relationships while managing sales activities within a select group of key accounts.
Activities
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals for region.
- Deliver sales presentations to key accounts; maintain relationships, negotiate and close deals.
- Resolve key account issues/complaints.
- Review market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
- Ensure pricing policy adherence.
- Responsible for ongoing forecasting and demand planning.
- Monitor customer risk/account receivable reporting for the territory. Resolve credit issues in a proactive manner.
- Direct channel development activity and coordinate sales distribution.
- Advise accounts concerning sales, advertising techniques, retail planning and merchandising.
- Manage company policies and monitors brand presence within accounts.
- Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting retail and ecommerce sales.
- Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.
- Represent company at trade association meetings and events to promote product.
- Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
- Prepare periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
- Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition.
Profile
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university (emphasis in Business Administration or Marketing concentration preferred), and a minimum of 5 years of professional sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and related experience is required.
- Previous strategic key account management/sales management experience in tennis industry and/or large chain retail sporting goods industry is highly preferred.
- Digital presentation skills are required.
- Footwear/Apparel sales experience a plus.
- B2C E-Commerce experience a plus.
- Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well within a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness, creativity, and continued willingness to take initiative a must.
- Working knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Order processing systems; Word Processing (Word) software is required.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Approximately 25% travel time is required.
